Hike #3 of 8 for the Summer Challenge and this was my favorite so far! The tall trees were beautiful, and the Purple Trail was partially paved but mostly natural and winding through the woods. Some of the trail was pretty narrow and some areas were muddy from recent rain.
There were benches along the route which was nice, and I wanted to get a photo of Ella sitting on one. I asked her “up” which is her command to jump up onto a higher surface – but instead of up on the bench, she went completely over the back of the bench in one graceful leap! Needless to say, I did not get that photo I was trying for.
Aside from the mosquitos, this was a very pleasant and very nature-focused hike. I’d like to go back and do some of the other trails at this park.
