Adventure Details
Our final Summer Hiking Challenge hike! This three-mile out-and-back was quiet and peaceful, winding through the countryside on a more natural section of the Nickel Plate Trail. Still very straight, but much more enjoyable than the Louisville section—and finishing it meant 8/8 hikes complete! As a bonus, it also counted as our Hiker’s Choice for the 2026 Stark Exploring challenge.

Ella pooped on the way back so I picked it up and decided I would tie the poop bag to her harness so I didn’t have to carry it. Well, then she thought something was chasing her with every step she took 😂 so I had to take it off and tie it to my backpack after all. You can see it in my shadow on the bottom right.

We also saw some really beautiful butterflies along the route!
